Here's my chance! I had been planning at trip to Black Canyon of The Gunnison since my arrival here a month ago.

As part of the National Park Service turning 100 years old in 2016, on 16 days in "16", all parks that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone. The Black Canyon National Park free days are next week, August 25th-28th.

Aside from the breathtaking views through the canyon, the road through is part of one of the premier bike races in the country. The USA Pro Challenge Bike Race rolls through from Gunnison to Crested Butte. The race was tabled for 2016 but is scheduled to return in 2017.

Sorry, but I'm in no shape to cruise through the canyon on a bike. The only "bike" I'll roll though would have a throttle and hopefully the words "Harley Davidson" on the side. Wither on a motorcycle, or in my pick-up, I'm headed to the park next weekend. I've checked out the Monument, The Grand Mesa, and now off to The Black Canyon of The Gunnison. The previous two have been beautiful for sure but I'm thinking the Black Canyon will top them all. Make your plans to join me. Grab your friends and take advantage of this awesome FREE deal!
