We all know the big attraction at Thanksgiving is eating, but there are a lot more things to do than eat, so let's take a look at a few.

Held the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 28, this will give you a chance to make a little more room for that huge meal. Proceeds from the race will go to the Grand Junction Fire Fighter's Foundation. A nice 5k run for you and a quick run down Main Street for the young ones.

After the meal has been served, why not walk off that excellent meal by taking a stroll downtown? Check out the Art on the Corner, window shop, enjoy a nice easy day with the ones you love. Now approaching its 35th year, Art on the Corner is a must see any time of year.

Skiing enthusiasts will tell you they will grab a bite of something "Thanksgiving-y" on the slopes, but it's a day off work, so off to the slopes they go. Why not join them? Find your favorite open ski area and go have some fun.

There is always help needed, especially around the holidays, so why not see if the homeless shelter needs help for the day or maybe go visit sick folks in the hospital to brighten their time up? Whatever you decide to do, you should know they will be thankful for your help.
