This is a great time of year because three of Western Colorado's biggest attractions are featured within just a few weeks of each other -sweet corn, peaches, and wine. What is the ONE you gotta have?

Sweet corn enthusiasts were out in full force over the weekend in Olathe for the Sweet Corn Festival, which is a great family event.

People who don't love Olathe sweet corn have never eaten Olathe sweet corn. To know it is to love it. My favorite thing to do with Olathe sweet corn is to cut if off the cob, freeze it in bags, and enjoy fried sweet corn for weeks to come.

The Palisade Peach Festival is next on the docket August 19 and 20. Peaches are so versatile because there are so many things you can do with them. You can eat them right off the tree, or use them in a peach pie, peach jam, peach pancakes, peach shakes - or just about anything else. The peach recipes are endless.

Then, of course, is Colorado Mountain Winefest September 15-18. Western Colorado loves its wine and is mighty proud of it. Wine tasting is certainly one of the most popular past times in the Grand Valley for visitors as well as locals, and Winefest draws wine lovers from all over the country. For some, it is the highlight of the year.

So here are three things that are greatly loved in Western Colorado, but which commodity to people love the most? Of these three, which is your  "must have" pleasure?

For me personally, I would have to say I have the greatest affection and anticipation for Olathe sweet corn. If I had to choose one, it would be the corn -- and believe me, no one is more surprised about that than I am, considering my fabled vegetable reputation.

Now, it's time for you to decide. If  you could only have one of the three -- which would it be?
