On summers final weekend snow hits the Colorado higher elevations.

I was in Telluride on Sunday and the precipitation there was in the form of rain but actual snow fell in Loveland Pass and the Arapahoe Basin over the weekend. Drivers passing through the Eisenhower Tunnel early Saturday morning reported seeing the white stuff. I get it's part of life in these parts but snow when it's still officially summer, that's way too early.

I'm sure the ski resort guys were thrilled seeing the falling snow but those of us that will have to drive through it aren't so excited. The Colorado State Patrol used the event as an opportunity to remind everyone that it's time to prepare for high country driving and the challenges that come with it.

Fall doesn't arrive until Friday so I'm celebrating right up to the end. Everyone tells me how much they love fall, I'm a fan too, however, it's what comes immediately following that I'm not such a fan of. #longlivesummer
