It's possible you have never heard of the Six Million Dollar Band, but it's highly unlikely you haven't heard their music.

The Six Million Dollar Band is a cover band out of Denver that specialized in the soundtrack of the 1980s. From Prince and Kenny Loggins to Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Journey, the Cars and countless others, this band plays the music you know and they try to play it the way you remember it.

September 7, The Six Million Dollar Band makes its Grand Junction debut at the 2018 Colorado Pork n Hops Challenge at the Amphitheatre at Las Colonias Park. Saturday night at Pork n Hops may belong to Blackhawk and the country crowd, but Friday night it's all about 1980s rock and roll.

I'll be the first to admit I have not heard the Six Million Dollar Band, but when I look at their setlist, I'm thinking I'm in for a great time. Songs like My Sharona, Freeze Frame, Jack and Diane, Take Me Home Tonight, and Working for the Weekend are just a few of the familiar 1980s hits the band performs. You know the songs, it's a live band, they are excellent musicians -- how can you go wrong?

Here's how the band's website describes them.

Classic 80s tracks performed exactly as the original artists, with the sounds and musical style that made them famous.

I can tell you I'm making plans to be at the Amphitheatre on September 7 to see the Six Million Dollar Band, and if you love 80s music you would be crazy not to. This is going to date me, but I graduated from high school in 1982 - and the 80s music craze was just beginning. What great music and great memories!

The Six Million Dollar Bands song list is huge, and so you don't know exactly what you are going to hear from one performance to the next, but the one thing you do know is that you are going to most likely know 90% of the songs they play.

Tickets for this show are reasonably priced at $15. Whether you want a fun date night, an evening with friends, or just hear some great music from a live band you can sing along with, my best advice is to plan to be at this show.
