School Recommends Breast Reduction Surgery for Bullied Girl

Growing up isn't easy and it makes it harder when you're the one kid going through all those changes by yourself. With bullying in schools a nationwide problem and concern one school had an offensive recommendation for one girl to put an end to it.

A 13 year old girl's mother says school officials allegedly made the offensive suggestion she could end being bullied with breast reduction surgery. The girl's classmates made fun of her because of her body.

Her mother says when she called Central Middle School in Moline Acres, Missouri someone told her her daughter could transfer or go see a plastic surgeon. The trend for teenagers to avoid bullying through plastic surgery has been a growing with hundreds of thousands of surgeries a year.

The superintendent says an investigation is underway, but he suspects(or hopes) the controversy is "a product of miscommunication, interpretation of information."
