We are just a few days away from the big Rock Jam event and if you are camping out for the weekend here is a check list to help get you ready.

First you will need a place to crash so dig your tent out and if you haven’t used it this year you might want to set it up. Just to make sure you have all parts and don’t forget the stakes. It does get windy sometimes and you don’t want it to blow away.

You will also want to bring an air mattress, pillows and a sleeping bag. You might want to grab an extra blanket the nights have been cooling down and I bet by 2am it will be in the fifties in Mack. If you have an old throw rug you might want to use it at the entrance of your tent. That way you don’t track a bunch of dirt into your tent.

Next get a big zip-lock bag to put your tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and soap in that way it doesn’t leak on your cloths. Don’t forget a couple of towels just incase it rains a little or you plan to use the showers on site. You might want to grab a brush or a comb and if you have long hair maybe a hair tie to two.

Don’t forget your clothes, it might earn you a ton of beads but it might get you arrested as well. This year you might want to bring an extra pair of socks and a jacket or a heavy sweat shirt if it cools off after the shows.

There are lights in the camp grounds but after dark some site get pretty dark so bring a flashlight and a lantern or two. Hey, don’t forget to put fresh batteries in them, it real sucks when they die and it always happens when you need them the most.

Finally don’t forget the sun screen and the bug spray. You don’t want to burn up or get eaten alive by bugs when you’re having a good time. In part two I will cover the eats so be ready to have some fun.
