Polis: Changes Schools Might Need to Make To Reopen This Fall
Governor Jared Polis said in his Wednesday press conference that he is optimistic Colorado schools will be able reopen next fall.
He also conceded that the schools will likely have to operate a little differently.
According to reports by KKTV and the Colorado Springs Gazette, here are policies Polis suggested could change out of precaution:
- Desk configurations
- Passing times for students
- Possible mask requirements
- Staggered start times
- New lunch formats
Governor Polis told Colorado school superintendents that schools should "prepare for the possibility" of not returning to in-class learning until January of 2021 as a backup plan.
