The man who protects Peyton Manning’s blindside, #78 Ryan Clady, got a pay raise on Friday as the Denver Broncos put the franchise tag on the All-Pro left tackle. Clady, the three time Pro Bowler, allowed just one sack in more than 1,100 snaps last year for the Broncos. Clady has also started every game in his five years in Denver.

Ryan Clady made $3.5 million for his work last season, now with the franchise tag Clady will make $9.8 million this season. The Denver Broncos are looking to sign Clady to a long term deal before the start of the 2013 season. Last Summer Clady walked away from a five-year $50 million deal with the Broncos and will miss offseason workouts as he recovers from surgery on his right shoulder.
