It would seem we have come to the end of the professional sports career of Tim Tebow.

The former college football standout has announced his intention to retire from professional sports. In a statement released by the New York Mets, Tebow said "I loved every minute of the journey, but at this time I feel called in other directions.

Tim Tebow was the number one draft pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL draft. He was never able to capture the magic that made him one of the best college football quarterbacks ever to play the game. Four failed stops in the NFL led Tebow eventually to try his hand at professional baseball, which lasted for five seasons in the minor leagues.

No, Tim Tebow wasn't a great NFL quarterback, and he certainly never achieved anything close to elite status in Major League Baseball. In my opinion, Tim Tebow is a great person and that is why he has landed on his feet after years of trying to make it in the world of professional sports. Think about this, there is no denying Tim Tebow is a great athlete. Even so, he did not have the skills necessarily required to play quarterback in the NFL or to make it in the MLB. But, Timmy T. had the skills he needs to make it in the game of life.
