Ron Burgundy Interviews Peyton Manning on SportsCenter

Ron Burgundy has been on a monster tour to promote the ‘Anchorman 2” movie and now even Peyton Manning has been given the Burgundy treatment. Burgundy was on SportsCenter and did a little interview with Manning. I will have to say Peyton did pretty well with this knucklehead but I started thinking what is the big push for?

Will Ferrell’s second Anchorman movie is set to hit the big screen on December 18 and I will say he has been doing one killer job in promoting it. He has been every where as Ron Burgundy doing commercials, personal appearances and even sitting in on real newscasts to promote the movie.

I can’t remember the last time an actor did such a big push to promote their movie, then it dawned on me, Ferrell has to do this if he wants his movie to make any money this month. Sure December is a big movie month but the Friday before ‘Anchorman 2’ is released the big movie of the month will come out.

The second Hobbit movie ‘The Desolation of Smaug’ will be released on December 13 across the country and there is no doubt in my mind this will be the big winner at the box office this month.

The good news for Ferrell is that it only cost them about $50 million to make ‘Anchorman 2’ so they should made that back over the first month. Peter Jackson will have to wait a little longer to make back his money for the Hobbit movies but he will the first movie made over a billion dollars.
