I love snowshoeing and cross country skiing I think for me snowshoeing is a better work out on the legs and thighs. I came across a woman at the Grand Junction airport she was actually a flight attendant with a few days off and she spent it snowshoeing on the Mesa. She said there was so much snow that she thought it possible to snowshoe or possible cross country ski all the way until June.

It is easier to snowshoe on hardpacked snow than soft snow. I have tried snowshoeing where the snow was a little softer because it was a warm day and I kept sinking. It was still a lot of fun just a little more work. If you have never tried snowshoeing there are lots of trails on the Grand Mesa and the snow might stay around a little longer than expected.

Snowshoeing is an exhilarating sport you get to take in breathtaking scenery plus the exercise. I also love to downhill ski but this sport is a little easier on the knees you don't have to worry about crashing going 40mph.
