Do you get a little unglued when looking down from really high places? Does it give you the chills to watch a solo mountain climber trying to make it up over an ice-covered ledge even though you are on the ground?

Moving to Colorado really got me interested in mountain climbing. I could never do it myself, but I respect the heck out of those that can. It's fascinating to watch people climb the 14ers in Colorado or to go online and see people doing climbs in the Alps or the incredibly high slopes of the Himalayas.

Colorado's Ice Park in Ouray

Ouray's Ice Park is such a cool place to visit during the months the ice climbers are active. The footage we are about to look at was captured in 2012. Climbing ice that is melting in the sunlight is an incredibly risky thing to do. Lots of climbers like for a face to be completely frozen if they climb it. This reduces the chance for rockfall from melting ice and unstable climbing surfaces.
