Nolan Arenado is expressing his displeasure after finding out the Rockies are not planning to trade him.

The Denver Post reports that Rockies General Manager Jeff Bridich told them he had no plans to trade Arenado after rumors were swirling for months that he was on his way out.

With the season coming up and spring training on the horizon, we are going to start focusing on that. We have listened to teams regarding Nolan and really nothing has come of it. We are going to move forward pretty much as we expected — with Nolan in the purple and black and as our third baseman. We can put this to bed and collectively look forward to the upcoming season and work toward that.”

After finding out the news, Arenado quickly lashed out, telling Denver 7:

Jeff is very disrespectful. I never talk trash or anything. I play hard, keep my mouth shut. But I can only get crossed so many times."

The five-time All-Star went on to say that he's not angry about the trade talk. He's upset about the relationship with General Manager Jeff Bridich, which has become fractured over the past few months.

Only 11 months ago, the two agreed to an eight-year, $260-million contract. The deal made Arenado the highest-paid player in franchise history and included a no-trade clause with an opt out after the 2021 season that the team inserted.
