NHL Eastern Conference Finals: Speed VS. Brutality
Saturday the Eastern Conference Finals in the NHL will feature the speed of the Pittsburgh Penguins against the brutality of the Boston Bruins. The best of seven series will begin Saturday June 1st at 6pm inPittsburgh. The really cool thing is, the last four Stanley Cup Champions make up the final four in the 2013 NHL playoffs.
The Boston Bruins are a tough team. In game seven of round one of the playoffs they where down 4-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs with less than 11 minutes to play. The Bruins tied the game then won it in overtime. They then blew the New York Rangers off the ice in five games. This is a good team lead by their 6’ 9”, 255lbs captain Zdeno Chara and Sidney Crosby can expect to see a lot of Chara. For the Bruins I think this series rest on goalie Tuukka Rask. If he can keepPittsburghin check, until the Bruins physical play takes a toll, the Bruins can win this series and they did win the 2011 Stanley Cup.
What can’t you say aboutPittsburgh, they are the darlings of the NHL. Sidney Crosby is the face of the league and every sportscaster is gaga over the Penguins. Don’t be fooled this team can play hockey. The Penguins not only have three players in the top five goal scores in these playoffs, they lead in assist and have two short-handed goals. This is a very good team and are only three year from win Lord Stanley’s Cup.
So who wins? The Pittsburgh Penguins have all the skill and speed a team could need. The Boston Bruins are a tough team that can score timely goals. I think the Penguins win the series in six game, just too much fire-power. Enjoy the games.
