Colorado will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026, and with that, set out to put out a new license plate to commemorate it. The plate that was chosen, turned out to be very, very popular.
All entrants were residents of Colorado, as who could be better and depicting the state on a plate, than someone who lives here.
WHO DESIGNED COLORADO'S NEW RECORD-BREAKING LICENSE PLATE?
From the "Under 13" group of submissions, Calista Blaschke of Denver. Over 34,000 people voted in the contest, with Calista's plate garnering 63.58% of votes.
WHAT IS COLORADO'S NEW RECORD-BREAKING LICENSE PLATE?
It's named, "Pikes Peak or Bust."
"Sesquicentennial" means 150, FYI.
WHAT MAKES THIS 150TH-ANNIVERSARY PLATE A RECORD-BREAKER FOR COLORADO?
According to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles, "Pikes Peak or Bust" reached the number of 5,700 in plate orders in only two months of being available (the plate began sales on August 1, 2023.)
