Rookie or veteran, a longtime rider or just a beginner, summer's here and time to trade in the skis for mountain bikes and hit Powderhorn. Opening day is this Saturday, June 24th.

Mountian biking isn't a hobby around here, it's a religion. I've got to join the masses and get myself on a bike. Powderhorn makes it easy. Even if you don't own a bike, they rent everything from helmets, goggles, and of course the bike itself. What makes Powderhorn special too is the Flat Top Flyer ride for you and your bike to the top of the Grand Mesa. Saturday is opening day of their summer season of lift-accessed downhill mountain biking at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

The Powderhorn Bike Park has several runs for all skill levels. Each was designed to flow with the landscape and complement the terrain. The fun starts every morning at 11 am. There are, of course, season passes and package deals plus bike clinics. If you're like me and haven't got with the mountain biking program make this the year that you do. Welcome summer and happy biking!
