Montrose Day Care Worker Arrested For Abuse
An eight-month-old baby was hospitalized due to abuse from a daycare employee.
22-year-old Carolina Jaramillo was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse on Wednesday (May 2) and is now free on bond.
The baby's parents took the child to Montrose Memorial Hospital where child protective services and the Montrose Police were called due to serious bodily injury to the baby.
The daycare center where Jaramillo worked, Tender Hearts Preschool and Daycare were cooperative and no other employee is under suspicion.
Authorities are now looking to see if Jaramillo abused any other children at the center.
Jaramillo stated in her staff bio that she loved children and felt like one herself while watching them.
The scope of the injuries has yet to be released.
The Montrose Police Department is investigating the case along with the Montrose County sheriff's office and Child Protective Services.
