Veterans Day is a holiday to honor those that have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and it means most city, county, state, and federal offices are closed.

Here's a look at some of what is and isn't happening on Wednesday in Mesa County.

  • No mail delivery
  • City trash service is on regular schedule
  • City offices are closed
  • State Drivers License Offices Closed
  • Grand Junction Police Department( including GJPD Records and Front Counter. Emergency services resume as normal)

Mesa County Offices that are closed include:

  • Commissioners, Treasurer, Assessor
  • Administration and Resource Management
  • Attorney's Office
  • Clerk and Recorder
  • District Attorney
  • Health and Human Services
  • Hazard Waste and Solid Waste Administration
  • Public Works and Planning
  • Regional Transportation Planning Office
  • Sheriff's Office
  • Workforce Center
  • Mesa County Libraries

The closure does not include:

  • Criminal Justice Services
  • Grand Valley Transit
  • Sheriff's Office - Jail, Patrol, Emergency
  • Mesa County Landfill and Compost Facilities
  • Animal Services open 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Most banks will be closed, and most retail business will be open.
