Meet The Grand Junction Rockies Newest Player: Matt Holliday
One of the greatest Colorado Rockies players ever was re-signed to the team this week, and the club sent Matt Holliday to the Grand Junction Rockies.
Holliday played five seasons with the Rockies, helping to their only World Series appearance in 2007. In that season, Holliday finished second in MVP voting, finishing the year with a league-high .340 batting average along with 36 home runs and 137 RBI.
Selected to seven all-star teams in his career, Matt Holliday has hit .299 with 314 home runs and 1,217 runs batted in over 14 major league seasons.
His appearance with the Grand Junction Rockies isn't expected to last long, as he will be moving through the minor leagues in an attempt to make one more major league appearance with the club that drafted him.
