The biggest takeaways in the announcement were that President and Chief Operating Officer of the Rockies, Greg Feasel, would be stepping down from his position at the conclusion of the 2025 season and that Walker Monfort, son of the team's CEO Dick Monfort, would be promoted to Executive Vice President.

So, who exactly is the Colorado Rockies' next Executive Vice President?

Who is the Colorado Rockies' Next Executive Vice President, Walker Monfort?

Walker's father, Dick Monfort, first joined the Rockies' organization in 1997 as vice chairman of the team as has been the ball club's CEO since 2011.

The younger Monfort first joined the organization in 2006, where he gained experience in a number of operations, including grounds crew, promotions, and ticketing, until becoming a full-time member of the front office in 2009.

Between the years of 2009 and 2013, Walker Monfort worked in Minor League operations and player development, where he reported directly to Feasel.

In 2015, Walker oversaw things like sponsorship sales, promotional planning, Rockies TV production, and in-game entertainment for Colorado Rockies home games at Coors Field.

Most recently, Walker held the title of vice president of corporate sponsorships, but as of this morning, when the Colorado Rockies released the full press statement announcing the personnel changes, he holds the title of Executive Vice President.

While Walker has technically been given the new title, he will continue to work alongside Feasel until January 2026, when he officially assumes the responsibilities of the role.
