For the second straight week, the CMU Women's Basketball Team is ranked #1 in the South Central Region. The ranking would  give the Mavericks a berth in the Regional Tournament, and the #1 seed would have the Mavs playing on their home court.The Mavericks , 23-1 overall and 19-1 in conference play, this past weekend clinched the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title and head into next week's RMAC Shootout as the #1 seed and host team.

This week's USA Today coaches' poll came out on Tuesday, and the Mavericks again this week sit at #4 in the nation. Clayton State at 25-0 is ranked #1, followed by Ashland at 27-1, and Bentley at 24-1.

In the regional rankings, the Mavericks are 21-1, ahead of 2nd ranked Abilene, with a record of 19-4 in the region. A total of 4 RMAC teams are ranked in the top 10 with Metro State at #6, Fort Lewis at #8, and CSU Pueblo at #9.

The Mavericks close out the regular season this weekend with Adams State on Friday and Fort Lewis on Saturday.
