Man’s Intentional Encounter With Moose Deemed Wildlife Harassment
An amateur video of a man in Frisco intentionally trying to get close to a moose by coaxing it toward him has outraged citizens and wildlife officials saying his actions are wildlife harassment.
The video shows the man kneeling under a tree near the moose who is casually eating. He starts whistling and tries to coax the moose to come closer to him. When the moose makes a quick charge towards the man, he touches it before the moose retreats.
Most Coloradans know there are going to be incidental and unintentional encounters with wildlife. They also know they should remove themselves from the encounter in the best and safest way possible.
This guy's encounter doesn't fall into that category. So, Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials would like to find him so they can tell him wildlife harassment is illegal and present him with a ticket and appropriate fine.
