Jackyl, ‘Rally’ – Exclusive Song Premiere
It's been four years since we last heard from southern rock stalwarts Jackyl. The quartet are returning with ROWYCO, their eight studio effort due Aug. 5 via Mighty Loud Records. Offering a glimpse at what the album has to offer, the single, "Rally" is streaming below exclusively at Loudwire.
Jackyl are known to get the engine revving, namely a chainsaw engine, and spare no expense with the groove-laden, mostly slower burn of "Rally." Opening with rolling, tribal sounding drums, the distorted chugs kick in as singer Jesse James Dupree delivers the song's title in four-round, rapid-fire bursts with "Oogah-chuggah" backing vocals.
The rock-steady pace of the remainder of the tune sees the singer belt out his signature crooning wail. A true highway-rider of a song, the guitar solo is simple yet effective, tearing off screaming, bluesy licks that reach far and wide across the open road's vast expanses, looking for ears to infiltrate.
Pre-orders for ROWYCO can be made at iTunes.
The album's release will coincide with the grand re-opening of the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, S.D., which has dubbed itself the "World's Largest Biker Bar." Dupree and owner Michael Ballard teamed up to create the reality show Full Throttle Saloon, which chronicled the bar's daily activities across its six-season run.
Jackyl will play the week of the bar's re-opening on Aug. 11. A list of upcoming tour dates can be found at the band's website.
