Popular Colorado Ski Area to Be Sold to Alterra Mountain Company

The company that offers the Ikon Pass, Alterra Mountain Company, will be purchasing a popular Colorado ski area according to Powder.com. Dream Unlimited Corp has been the owner of Arapahoe Basin Ski Area for 27 years.

While Arapahoe Basin Ski Area has been a part of the Ikon Pass for the past three years, the ski area has remained an independent area for skiers and snowboarders.

Alterra Mountain Company has signed a contract to purchase Arapahoe Basin. The closing of the deal is expected to occur later this year. Until the closing, all of us at The Basin still work for Dream and our primary objective is to deliver the same incredible Basin experiences that you have come to expect. Arapahoe Basin was founded in 1946 by Larry Jump, a Colorado Ski Hall of Famer and has been hailed as one of Colorado's most original and dramatic ski resorts.
