Hay Rides, Train Rides, Fresh Cider In Grand Junction On Saturday
There are two more special Saturdays in October at the Cross Orchards Historic Site in Grand Junction.
All month long, Cross Orchards has been hosting Fall Season Days every Saturday and offering some great family fun.
Typically, Cross Orchards hosts a big event this time of year called Fall Day On the Farm, but were unable to have the event this year. In its place, they have been able to have a smaller event and spread it out through the entire month of October.
This Saturday, October 24, Cross Orchards is hosting another Fall Season Days event.
The day features a farmer's market from 8 am until noon and some special things will be happening throughout the day. Beginning at 9:00, the Ride-on-Train will be running and there will be Hay Rides with a 1040s restored Ford Tractor leading the way.
Additionally, there will be woodworking demonstrations, mountain man demonstrations, and model trains. Plus, you can shop for fresh-pressed cider among the trees where the apples were grown.
A couple of craftsman workshops are also being offering including Making Your Own Cleaning Supplies, and Beginning Heirloom Sewing. You can sign up for the workshops on the Museum of Western Colorado website.
There are a few Halloween events happening in the Grand Valley, but not that many, so this might be a good opportunity to get the kids out and enjoy a little family time. A visit to Cross Orchards is always fun as well as educational. Admission is free, but there will be a charge for the Ride-on-Train.
Cross Orchards Historic Site is located at 3073 F Road in Grand Junction.
