Grand Junction Homicide Suspect Caught – Additional Charges Filed
The suspect in a Monday morning fatal shooting has been arrested for the original charge of second degree murder. Following the arrest, additional charges in relation to the shooting have been filed.
Joseph Peace was arrested Wednesday (March 28) around 6 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Weeping Willow for the shooting death of Eric Ludwick early Monday morning.
In addition to the original charge of Second Degree Homicide, Peace is facing charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Previous Offender, Possession of a Defaced Firearm and illegal drug charges.
According to a news report, an argument broke out between Peace and Ludwick while they were in the car. Peace said Ludwick reached for something and he shot Ludwick not knowing, but thinking it might have been a gun.
During a court appearance on Thursday (March 29) Peace was ordered held on a $1 million cash only bond.
