GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — A Jefferson County man has been sentenced to 74 years in prison in the death of his wife, who disappeared in 2003, days before her divorce was finalized.

Daniel DeWild was sentenced yesterday. He was accused of plotting to kill his wife, Heather, with his twin brother.Prosecutors said she had been struck in the head and hanged before her body was found buried along U.S. 6.

DeWild pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder after a jury convicted him of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and being an accessory to first-degree murder but deadlocked on a first-degree murder count.
