There's no doubt that the Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways series for HBO was a success and it also proved to be a shrewd marketing tool for the band's album of the same name. But would Foo Fighters consider more of this good thing?

Last November, Dave Grohl stated that he felt it was something he would never try to replicate, but opened it up for other bands to take the idea and apply it to some of the great studios around the world. "England's a great example of another country where each city has regional relevance," said Grohl at the time. "I think that every country could have its own Sonic Highways series."

In speaking about moving on, he also told Studio Brussels, "Wait until you see what we're doing for the next record. That's some f---ed up s--t. I already know what we're doing for that and it makes this look like f---ing kindergarten."

But since those interviews and having some distance from the album and series promotional cycle, could Grohl be having a change of heart? He told Billboard at the band's St. Patrick's Day performance, "There might be a season two. There are a lot of studios." When pressed about what season two might involved, he stated, "Taylor [Hawkins] is one to ask about the U.K. studios. He's been to them all, even if they're kabob shops now. He'll show up and be like, 'You guys know that they f---ing recorded Queen's The Game in here, right?'"

Grohl pondered the idea of going to Abbey Road and interviewing Paul McCartney or George Martin or heading to Berlin and speaking with David Bowie or Iggy Pop. He also considered heading to Melbourne and meeting with George Young or going to Manchester and speaking with Happy Mondays.

At present, it's all speculation though. In the meanwhile, fans can look forward to the Sonic Highways DVD release on April 7. The set is available to pre-order at Amazon.
