Eddie Vedder Plays Impromptu Mini-Concert Outside Chicago’s Wrigley Field
Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder just can't get enough of Chicago's Wrigley Field. He's a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and the band's Let's Play Two upcoming concert film focuses on a pair of shows at the legendary baseball park from 2016. But Vedder played a significantly lower profile show in Chicago Friday (Sept. 15) that a few locals got to enjoy.
Vedder reportedly spotted a couple of street musicians playing on Waveland Avenue outside of Wrigley Field and decided to join them. The instrumental performance found Vedder playing Pearl Jam's "Corduroy" and a cover of The Who's "The Seeker." You can see footage captured by a number of fans in the area via social media postings below.
Pearl Jam have mostly taken the year off, but Vedder has remained busy. The singer played dates in Australia, Brazil, the U.S. and Europe earlier this year. He also just headlined the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, Calif. and turned up to play with Pete Townshend on one of his Quadrophenia-themed shows.
As for the Let's Play Two film, it will screen nationwide on Oct. 3, with screenings in other parts of the world taking place the following day. There are also assorted screenings taking place in theaters both prior to and after the two main screening dates. See where the film is playing here.
