The Denver Zoo looks to up admission fees.

If you're thinking about taking the kids to the Denver Zoo this summer, it will likely cost you more. Zoo administrators say they need to up admission fees to cover increased operating expenses. The Zoo price increase idea was pitched to the City of Denver this week. The proposed increases would be as follows...

-Adult ticket prices would increase $3 to $20.

-A child's ticket would increase from $12 to $14.

The additional funds will go to facility repairs and renovations. Also for the purchase of higher quality food for the animals. Some of the money will go towards increased compensation for the zookeepers and veterinarians.

The Denver City Council will discuss the price increase at next months meeting. If the measure passes, the price increase could take effect as soon as last April or early May.
