Three Dead Bodies Found in Colorado Motel + Victims Identified
The bodies of three deceased people were found in a Colorado motel and police have identified the victims.
The Incident at the Colorado Hotel
The bodies were found in the early morning on Friday, March 4th, 2022 at a National 9 motel in Cortez, Colorado. Cortez is located in the southwest corner of the state of Colorado near the four corners and Mesa Verde State Park. This particular motel is located at 301 West Main Street in the heart of Cortez.
Victims Found at Colorado Motel
The victims have been identified as 44-year-old Shondella L. Silas of Towaoc, Colorado, 27-year-old Tilden D. Arrages also of Towaoc, and 40-year-old Tharon F. Grayhair of White Mesa, Utah.
What Happened to the Victims at this Colorado Motel?
Upon receiving the call that the three bodies were found at the motel, police determined that no foul play was suspected and that there were no visible injuries on the bodies to indicate a struggle or violence of any kind.
The Cortez Police Department did, however, find alcohol and what they believe to be various opioids, including the extremely dangerous Fentanyl in the room.
Fentanyl is a Growing Issue in Cortez, Colorado
When asked about the incident, Cortez Assistant Police Chief Andy Brock mentioned that Fentanyl is becoming a scary and growing problem in Cortez, as well as Montezuma County as a whole.
According to the Montezuma-Cortez Narcotics Investigation team, pills that appear to be the powerful prescription opioid OxyContin have been found in the area as counterfeits that contain Fentanyl.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
