Man Attending Country Jam Hospitalized With Gunshot Wound
A man was taken to the hospital from the Country Jam Ranch Friday evening (June 15) after suffering a gunshot wound while at the festival in Mack, Colorado.
The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. on Friday according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. The 30-year-old man was shot in the stomach at the festival campground and was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital.
Sheriff's Deputies say the shooting was self-inflicted and appears to be an accident. Others who may have been with the victim at the time of the shooting have been detained.
Deputies say the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no threat to others attending the festival. They remind people it is illegal to have any type of weapon, including firearms, anywhere on the Country Jam property.
