Country Jam Is A Super-Shot To The Local Economy
Country Jam means more than music to the Grand Valley.
This year is my third Country Jam. Every year I learn more about the festival's 28-year history, fun facts, and most importantly it's the economic impact on the area. I've spoken with RV dealerships, hotel operations, Uber drivers, and others and all say the same thing "it's their busiest time of the year and the areas largest revenue generator." It's like Christmas in June for the local economy.
A recent impact study from Colorado Mesa University seems to support what everyone has always believed, Country Jam is indeed the largest revenue generator in the region. The Colorado Mountain Wine Festival is huge but even close to the impact that Country Jam has. According to the CMU report, the annual 4-day music festival brings more than $11 million to the local economy!
Hope you're not looking for a hotel room. Every hotel for miles around has been sold out for weeks. Some report that rooms are already being reserved for the 2020 version of the festival.
The local Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce concurs with the CMU findings as well. Local restaurants are seeing more customers in for breakfast and lunch during the festival as patrons drag in after staying up last to take in the festival headliners.
It's not just a big deal, Country Jam is the biggest deal for the local economy! Have a fun and safe Country Jam and we'll see you there!
