Cory Gardner Becomes First Candidate To Refuse Debate Invite on 9NEWS Since 2014

Senator Cory Gardner has declined an invitation to debate his democratic opponents on 9NEWS in October.

9NEWS reported that had he accepted the invitation, Gardner would have debated the winner of the 2020 Democratic primary in October at Colorado State University.

Initially, Gardner did not respond to the invitation but his spokesperson, Jerrod Dobkin, confirmed the decline on Wednesday.

Neither of the leading Democrats, former Gov. John Hickenlooper nor former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, declined their invitation to the debate.

Gardner is the first candidate in any race to decline the 9NEWS debate since 2014.
