Shocking Footage Shows Havoc Caused by Wind in Colorado
There are various parts of Colorado that experience more wind than others, but on Friday, April 5, 2024, high-velocity winds wreaked havoc all over the state.

The weekend leading up to the April 8th solar eclipse saw heavy gusts knocking down trees, causing dangerous driving conditions, and numerous Coloradans across the state were left without electricity, some for several days.
Recent High Winds in Colorado + Semi Trucks
The above footage shows the shocking sight of a semi-truck being blown over.
This incident occurred on I-25 near the Wyoming border and was one of at least ten accidents of this nature reported.
Recent High Winds in Colorado + Power Outages
If your home had electricity the entire duration of these winds, count yourself lucky. Countless power outages caused by the recent gusts were reported all across the state and some unfortunate Coloradans were left without power for multiple days because of it.
The above photo shows a powerline throwing sparks in the middle of a heavy windstorm which fortunately, in this case, didn't cause a fire.
However, multiple fires were reported in Pueblo, Colorado including one at the historic steel mill.
Recent High Winds in Colorado + Damage to Property
In addition to power outages and problems on the roads, the recent windstorms in Colorado found numerous residents with damage to their property.
The wind was so strong that it raised this tree from its roots and caused significant damage to a home in Lakewood, Colorado.
Here we see another tree that caused significant damage to a vehicle due to the recent winds experienced throughout Colorado.
