Does Colorado Have a Weirder Food than Other States?
A photo circulating the internet right now depicts a map of the United States with each state's purportedly weirdest food.
There are certainly some strange ones, but for those not familiar with the "weirdest" dish from Colorado, the term Rocky Mountain Oysters is likely met with a head-scratching moment, followed by utter shock upon discovering what they actually are.
For the record, Rocky Mountain Oysters are deep-fried bull testicles.

Despite not being the most traditional of weird foods, Rocky Mountain Oysters have a unique association with the Centennial State and may actually be weirder than each of the weirdest foods from each of Colorado's neighboring states.
Is Colorado's Weirdest Food Weirder than in Neighboring States?
Let's start with the obvious so-called weird foods that come from states that border Colorado and do not even slightly compare to the weirdness of Rocky Mountain Oysters.
While the green chile and hot beef sundaes from New Mexico and Nebraska, respectively, sound like a couple of pretty disgusting flavors of ice cream, the weirdness doesn't compare to Colorado.
Even more tame is Utah's weirdest food, Jell-O Salad, followed shortly by Wyoming's Chuckwagon Breakfast and Oklahoma's Lamb Fries.
In case you're not familiar, the weirdest food in Kansas, the Bierock, is equally tame as it consists of ground beef, onion, and cabbage stuffed inside dinner rolls.
The only state that comes close to Colorado as far as weirdness is Arizona, home to the Scorpion Lollipop.
However, even Coloradans who enjoy a plate of Rocky Mountain Oysters from time to time will likely agree that they are even weirder than the sweet arachnid treat from Arizona.
