The “Best Venue” in this Colorado Town is a Floating Restaurant
There is no shortage of great food items in the popular ski town of Breckenridge, Colorado, but one restaurant is particularly unique, not just in that it was voted the best sports bar in town and the best place to grab a burger or wings, but it’s literally a floating vessel.
Ollie’s Pub and Grub in Breckenridge, Colorado, Named Best Sports Bar + More
Ollie’s Pub and Grub is a chain restaurant of sorts with two locations: one in Frisco and one in Breckenridge. However, it’s Ollie’s Breckenridge location that was named the best sports bar and the best place for burgers and wings in 2025. In addition, according to the chain’s official website, Ollie’s Pub and Grub in Breckenridge has been called the best venue in town as well.

While this is impressive, it’s far from the most unique thing about the restaurant.
Ollie’s Pub and Grub in Breckenridge, Colorado, is a Floating Vessel
The original location for Ollie’s Pub and Grub’s Breckenridge location opened in the heart of the ski town on Main Street in 2011. However, in 2020, right before big plans were thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ollie’s moved to what was once known as ‘The Dredge Restaurant,’ an establishment built into an old piece of mining equipment that floats on a body of water.
Dredging is a mining term in which operations take place either partially immersed in the water or fully underwater, a technique that dates back to Ancient Egypt.
Located at 180 W. Jefferson Avenue in Breckenridge, Ollie’s Pub and Grub at the Dredge is twice the size of its original location on Main Street and, due to its aquatic nature, added a number of seafood dishes to the menu once it opened up its second location in Breckenridge.
