One place in Colorado that is far less known than any of the haunted spots mentioned above is currently an upscale restaurant located beneath the streets of Colorado Springs that, in a past life, served as the city's principal morgue and crematorium.

Colorado's Rabbit Hole Restaurant was Once a Morgue

The Rabbit Hole was first opened in 2011 by Joe Campana after serving the community as a different restaurant known as The Metropolitan.

However, before that, the underground space below Tejon Street served as the city morgue and crematorium of Colorado Springs.

Decorated with gothic art from local artists Phil Lear and Douglas Rouse, the Rabbit Hole's eerie atmosphere mirrors not only its past life as the morgue but compliments the many stories of paranormal activity attached to the establishment.
