A 19-year-old driver got pulled over for doing 122 in a 75.

Yes, that's 47 MPH over the speed limit! With youth comes a certain amount of ignorance.

I'll admit I've driven way too fast a few times. I've owned a couple of sports cars and keeping them under the posted speed limit was a problem for me. After a few tickets and the increased insurance premiums, I realized the error of my ways and tried to slow it down.

A local teen driver is facing some hefty fines and increased insurance costs after pulling this stunt. A Colorado State Patrol officer clocked him on I-70 doing 122 MHP. The officer pulled the kid over at around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

My first question, "What's a teenager doing up that early in the morning?" Second, "Where the heck you going in such a hurry?"

The speed limit on I-70 between Grand Junction and Fruita is 75. He was going 47 MPH over. The CSP officer cited him for speeding and reckless driving. The officer mentioned in a tweet that the teen had just purchased the car, noting the temporary tags. That's an expensive way to break in a new car dude.
