Ski season is nearly here, but your favorite Colorado ski resorts are facing an unprecedented challenge: they may not have the staff they need for 2020.

According to 9News, in June, President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning foreign worker visas. Many of the employees hired at ski resorts in our state use J-1 visas in this category.

Because these students travel to Colorado specifically to work at resorts, doing jobs like chair lift operation, serving food, cleaning hotel rooms, and more, Colorado's biggest ski areas are feeling the pressure.

As next steps, the National Ski Areas Association is monitoring a lawsuit that would challenge Trump's original ban, and therefore allow these workers to re-enter the state.
