Colorado Police: Car ‘Puffing’ is Illegal and Dangerous
Winter weather is here and police are advising drivers against "puffing," or leaving vehicles running while unattended.
Denver had three vehicle thefts on Monday due to "puffing." The term comes from the tailpipe on the vehicle "puffing" in the cold. If you're caught puffing, you could face fines of up to $60.
The only exception to the rule is remote car starters, because the car is still locked.
