Did you know the Colorado Mesa University softball team is undefeated and ranked #1 in the nation in Division II?

If you didn't, play close attention. The Mavericks currently boasts an impressive record of 26-0 on the season, 16-0 in conference play and have vaulted to the top of the national rankings.

In dominating fashion, the Mavericks have outscored their opponents 284-48 so far this season. In 17 of the 26 games played, CMU opponents have scored 2 or fewer runs, while the Mavericks offense has scored in double digits in half of their games. In the last 13 games, the Mavericks have outscored their opponents 160-14.

What is even more remarkable is the Coach Ben Garcia's team has only played four games at home and still managed to maintain that perfect record.

Things are about to change as they will play 16 of their next 20 games at home, including a stretch of eight games in eight days.

At this rate, the Mavericks could do even better than they did last season when they finished 48-8 and went on to win the RMAC regular season title, and for the first time ever captured the conference tournament championship.

If you want to watch these amazing ladies in action, they will play a pair of doubleheaders this weekend against Colorado School of Mines beginning at noon on Saturday (March 24) and 11:00 am on Sunday at the CMU softball field.
