Colorado Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure, Urinating on Studio
A man was arrested in Longmont for a slew of charges including indecent exposure, public indecency, theft under $50, attempt to influence a public servant, littering, and criminal attempt to commit a petty offense.
The man, 36-year-old Leonel Espinal, had the police called on him after allegedly exposing himself to several people and then urinating on a yoga studio. The incident happened in Longmont, Colorado, around 8:30 am on Sunday, August 9th.
The first encounter Espinal had with police following the incident took place at an Auto Zone in Longmont, where the officer basically told him to stop exposing himself and urinating in public then left the scene, and Espinal, with no charges or arrest. During this interaction, Espinal allegedly also gave the officer a fake name.
Shortly thereafter, another call was made to police after Espinal allegedly attempted to steal a pair of gloves from said Auto Zone, citing the reason as the fact that he didn't have any cash on him and that his debit card was damaged. This incident led to another encounter with police, where Espinal once again gave a fake name and date of birth.
The officer then ran Espinal's fingerprints and determined his true identity, and that he had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court in Boulder County for, you guessed it, indecent exposure. The previous incident happened back in May where he was detained by Boulder's University of Colorado Police.
Espinal's bail has been set for $1,000 and his first court date regarding this incident took place today.
