Little Hawaii is an Amazing Colorado Hidden Gem
The town of Telluride has a lot to offer for anyone looking to truly experience Colorado's natural beauty. There's the famous ski resort, gorgeous backcountry, and even though numerous celebrities live close by, Telluride manages to maintain a genuine mountain town vibe.
One of the most beautiful hiking trails in the area, Bear Creek Trail, takes outdoors enthusiasts to what can only be considered God's Country with fantastic views and numerous waterfalls.
However, if you take Bear Creek Trail a little further past the most well-known natural attractions, you'll find yourself exiting the Bear Creek Preserve and entering the Uncompahgre National Forest land, which is where you'll find Little Hawaii.
As you'll see below, Little Hawaii earned its name due to the lush, almost tropical feel you'll find in the summer months, as well as crystal blue water and even more waterfalls.
The hike up to Little Hawaii takes over an hour and is accompanied by a gain of 381 feet in elevation but, if you keep scrolling, you'll quickly find out that it's well worth it.
