Colorado Homeowner Warns, Shoots Intruder
A Colorado homeowner shot a man who was allegedly trying to break into his home, even after warning the man several times he had a gun.
The incident occurred Saturday morning after midnight when 25-year-old Aaron Rivers attempted to break in through the front door. When those efforts failed, he began throwing and breaking furniture on the front porch before breaking a window and attempting to get in that way.
However, the homeowner was right there, warning the man he had a gun and would shoot him if he continued to try and enter the home.
Rivers ignored those words and attempted to enter the home through the now broken window when the homeowner made good on his threat, shooting Rivers in the arm.
Rivers was transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The homeowners do not know Rivers and have no idea why he chose their home.
Denver Police are still investigating the incident.
