Since Colorado legalized the sale, possession, and use of recreational marijuana for adults, dispensaries have been opening up shop all over the state.

However, a lot of care must be taken in order to operate a business like this, and one dispensary in Loma, Colorado, is in big trouble for multiple infractions.

What Happened to Colorado’s Foxhole Farms?

Foxhole Farms, which was located in the Western Colorado town of Loma, has been shut down for a few reasons.

According to Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, the dispensary mislabeled some of its products as industrial hemp, which is legal to purchase at any age, when the products actually contained significant levels of THC, the active chemical in marijuana.

In addition, it has been alleged that the company didn’t verify the ages of its online customers, which could have led to minors purchasing THC products illegally.

Many of the products were also mislabeled, didn’t have the mandated THC level on the packaging, and were sold in packaging that was not childproof.

Some of the products even contained the dangerous chemical benzyne and banned pesticides.

In addition to the actual marijuana products that were allegedly available to purchase regardless of the customer’s age, it was also found that Foxhole Farms made smoking devices, such as vapes, available for minors to purchase.

It was for all of these reasons that Foxhole Farms was not only shut down, but has been banned from the state’s legal marijuana industry altogether.

What’s Going to Happen to Colorado’s Foxhole Farms?

Because of the laundry list of infractions, Foxhole Farms is not only banned from participating in the Colorado legal marijuana industry, but the company has also been ordered to pay $75,000 in fines.
