Sad News for Colorado Residents Who Love Del Taco

It seems like ever since the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc across the United States, an alarming number of businesses were either forced to close during the crisis or were never able to recover financially from the lack of business caused by social distancing and other precautions.

In Colorado, residents have lost historic businesses, renowned mom-and-pop restaurants, and a number of big, corporate chains have even felt the blow enough to necessitate closing up locations across the Centennial State and beyond.

Most recently, the pseudo-Mexican fast food chain Del Taco made headlines after it was decided that it was necessary to close every location currently operating in Colorado except for one.

Del Taco Closes Nearly Every Colorado Location

The news came out on Thursday, February 27, 2025, that announced Del Taco's immediate plan to close 18 of the 19 restaurants operated by the chain in Colorado. As of the initial announcement, the only Del Taco restaurant to remain open following the mass closure is the one in Grand Junction.

Luckily, the initial story makes it clear that Del Taco is only planning to keep these restaurants closed on a temporary basis, leading fans of the taco joint to hold onto hope that they may return in the future.

The official statement from the fast food brand was posted on the front door of one of the Colorado locations and reads as follows:

"We regret to inform you that effective today 2/27/25, all Colorado Del Taco locations are closed until further notice. We thank you for your patronage, the memories we have created together, and wish you well."

While the statement mentions that all Colorado locations are set to remain closed, Del Taco fans in Grand Junction are, according to the latest news at the time in which this story was published, still able to enjoy food from the restaurant.
