If you're getting ready to attend college, you may want to consider continuing your education in Colorado.

According to a new report from Studee, Colorado is the ninth-best state to be a college student, falling behind only Virginia, Texas, Wisconsin, Florida, Utah, Minnesota, New York, and California.

The website looked at each state's average tuition, room, and boarding costs, along with its population of younger people and high-ranking colleges.

Studee reports that Colorado's average tuition, room, and boarding costs come to a total of $22,184, while nearly 10% of the state's population is between the ages of 19 and 25.

The Centennial State is also home to six high-ranking colleges — the website didn't specify which ones, but Colorado State University, the University of Colorado Boulder (our rivals, we know), and the Colorado School of Mines have all received high rankings from U.S. News.

Furthermore, Studee analyzed each state's average graduate salaries, crime rates, mental health, things to do, and LGBTQ+ friendliness, an area in which Colorado shines.

"[Colorado] is the most LGBT-friendly of them all so it is great for inclusivity, it also has a high number of young people and good graduate starting salaries," reads the study. "The state doesn't rank well for things to do, but if you like to get outdoors and explore you'll find plenty to keep you busy."
