The counties in Colorado that cracked the top 25 in the nation for having the most residents with Bachelor’s Degrees are San Miguel County, Pitkin County, Boulder County, Douglas County, and Gunnison County.

Colorado Counties with the Most Bachelor’s Degrees: San Miguel County

On a national scale, San Miguel County, home to the famous ski town of Telluride, is ranked as the county with the 5th most residents who hold Bachelor’s Degrees.

Colorado Counties with the Most Bachelor’s Degrees: Pitkin County

At number eight, we have Pitkin County, which is home to Aspen, Colorado. Interestingly, no major universities are located in either San Miguel or Pitkin County, though both counties are known for having high costs of living.

Colorado Counties with the Most Bachelor’s Degrees: Boulder County

Boulder County comes in at number 11 on the list of the most residents with Bachelor’s Degrees in the nation, which comes as no surprise given that the city is widely known as a college town and is home to both the University of Colorado and Naropa University.

Colorado Counties with the Most Bachelor’s Degrees: Douglas County

At number 18, we have Douglas County. While the county seat is Castle Rock, Douglas County also encompasses parts of the Denver Metro area, including the ritzy Highlands Ranch.

Colorado Counties with the Most Bachelor’s Degrees: Gunnison County

Finally, at number 24, we have Gunnison County. While being relatively small and isolated in one of the coldest parts of the state, Gunnison County is home to Western Colorado University, which could explain why so many of its residents carry Bachelor’s Degrees.
